Kindness Fest 2016 Updated Schedule & Details:
DATE – Saturday, March 12th, 2016
HOURS – 9:00am – 2:00pm. Participants are free to arrive at any time during the festival hours. Activities at each Activity Station & Sponsor Booth will be ongoing throughout the day.
SCHEDULE: Most activities are ongoing throughout the festival hours. The scheduled events are listed below.
9:15-9:25 – Opening Mandala Ceremony by Pine Lake Eco Arts Camp
11:00-11:20 – Ashley Chase & HUM “The Phoenix Dance for Kids” LOCATION: BEACH – The Phoenix Dance is a play on music, dance, and yoga created by Ashley Chase to awaken the audience participants from the inside. This activity involves live musicians in a circle and Ashley Chase teaches the children movements to first increase their flexibility, move their bodies in dance, and let their voices sing out along in harmony with the music.
12:00-12:20 – Puppet Show with Heidi Carpenter from Injest Puppets. LOCATION: LAKESIDE to the Right of the Beach House.
1:00-1:20 – Ashley Chase & HUM “The Phoenix Dance for Kids” 2nd Performance. LOCATION: BEACH
AGES – Kindness Fest is for families and kids of all ages including teenagers. Our sponsors and exhibitors are hosting many exciting and fun activities and projects for kids of all ages.

LOCATION – The beautiful Pine Lake Beach House featuring a gorgeous white sandy beach, pristine lake, creek, nature trails, picnic area & more! 4575 Lakeshore Dr, Pine Lake, GA.
PARKING – Parking is available in front of the beach house and in the marked areas along Lakeshore Drive. Additional parking is available on the neighborhood streets in the Pine Lake. Please see the map here: http://compassionatekids.org/kindness-fest-parking Parking is available on the streets marked in yellow on the map. This is a residential neighborhood. So, please be mindful when parking and avoid blocking driveways. If you need help with parking we will have staff members available to show you where to park.
WEATHER – This is an Indoor/Outdoor event and will be held RAIN OR SHINE! The exhibitor/sponsor displays and many of the activities will be taking place inside the spacious Pine Lake Beach House. There will also be activities and events on the beach and nature areas.
FOOD – Food & drinks will not be served at the event. Participants are encouraged to bring their own picnics, snacks, water bottles and bagged lunches. Picnic tables on the beach and along the lakefront will be provided. There are water fountains available inside and outside for your use. In alignment with out eco-friendly event we’d like to encourage the use of reusables and water bottles instead of disposables if at all possible. Our only rule is for everyone to clean up after themselves.
MARKETPLACE – Many of our exhibitor organizations will have items like T-shirts for sell to benefit their organizations and causes. So don’t forget your wallet!
ACTIVITIES – Throughout the day each of our sponsors will be hosting kindness and compassion centered activities in their activity station areas. Children will learn about the many ways they can help the environment, animals and people in need. Planned activities include: Nature-Based Eco Art Projects, Mandala Creation, NonViolence Leadership Activities, Kids Yoga & Fitness Activities & Demos, Participating in “Signs of Compassion” Music Video, Interactive Puppet Shows, Puppet Making, Environmental Education & Ecology Activities, Parachute & Beach Play, Skits & Games, Interaction with animals & more!
MUSIC VIDEO – “Signs of Compassion” – Throughout the day we will be filming a promo video (“Signs of Compassion”) for Compassionate Kids featuring kids in various vignettes holding and interacting with home-made activist/protest style Signs & Banners with written messages for causes for which they are passionate. There will be a Sign-Creation-Station where participants can make their own signs & banners. Kids who wish may also bring their own signs they’ve created at home. EXPLORE & HIKE – While you are visiting the festival we encourage you to check out the Lake, Wetlands, and Hiking Trails of Pine Lake. Please remember that adult supervision of small children is required. NOTE: Swimming is not permitted at the beach during this event.
