Activities include: EcoArts, Kid’s Yoga & Fitness, Parachute & Beach Play, Skits, Games & Contests, Mandala Creation, Recycling, Environmental Education & Ecology, Non-Violent Communication, Puppet Shows, Face Painting, Crafts & More!
DATE – Saturday, March 12th, 2016
HOURS – 9:00am – 2:00pm. Participants are free to arrive at any time during the festival hours. Activities at each Activity Station & Sponsor Booth will be ongoing throughout the day.
AGES – Kindness Fest is for families and kids of all ages!
COST – This is a FREE event cosponsored by Compassionate Kids (CompassionateKids.Org) & Pine Lake Eco Arts Camp (EcoArtsCamp.Com).

LOCATION – The beautiful Pine Lake Beach House featuring a gorgeous white sandy beach, pristine lake, creek, nature trails, picnic area & more! 4575 Lakeshore Dr, Pine Lake, GA.
WEATHER – This is an Indoor/Outdoor event and will be held rain or shine! The exhibitor/sponsor displays and many of the activities will be taking place inside the spacious Pine Lake Beach House. There will also be activities and events on the beach and nature trails.
FOOD – Participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks, drinks and bagged lunches. Picnic tables outside and tables inside will be provided.
ACTIVITIES – Throughout the day each of our sponsors will be hosting kindness centered activities in their activity station areas. Children will learn about the many ways they can help the environment, animals and people in need. Planned activities include: Nature-Based Eco Art Projects, Mandala Creation, NonViolence Leadership Activities, Kids Yoga & Fitness Activities & Demos, Participating in “Signs of Compassion” Music Video, Interactive Puppet Shows, Puppet Making, Environmental Education & Ecology Activities, Parachute & Beach Play, Skits & Games & more!
MUSIC VIDEO – “Signs of Compassion” – Throughout the day we will be filming a promo video (“Signs of Compassion”) for Compassionate Kids featuring kids in various vignettes holding and interacting with home-made activist/protest style Signs & Banners with written messages for causes for which they are passionate. There will be a Sign-Creation-Station where participants can make their own signs & banners. Kids who wish may also bring their own signs they’ve created at home. Peta Kids – An animal rights organization that helps kids learn all about how to help animals! We believe that it’s not cool to use animals for food, clothing, experiments, or entertainment or to abuse them in any other way. Animals are our friends, and we are doing everything we can to make the world a better place for them.
Parenting Beyond Punishment – A resource for parents, educators and caregivers. We believe empathy and connection are key to creating and enforcing respectful boundaries. Our goal is to help create homes and learning environments where everyone feels respected, valued, and heard. We provide workshops, resources and tools to guide you on your journey beyond punishment.
Compassionate Atlanta – Compassionate Atlanta is a grassroots movement that seeks to raise awareness about the benefits of compassionate action in the Greater Atlanta area. The Compassionate Atlanta Planning Team, which was formed in 2013, was instrumental in getting the City of Atlanta designated as a Compassionate City.
Wild Child Counseling – Providing counseling and consultation services to children, parents, adolescents and families in the metro Atlanta area. We use a mindfulness based approach to psychotherapy to help find sustainable and respectful solutions to challenges in family conflict, school challenges, friendships, self-regulation, and other challenging behaviors.
Joyful Spaces – Founded by enthusiastic entrepreneur and artist, Amber Blandford, Joyful Spaces creates internal freedom through organizing the external world. Assisting clients with specific intrapersonal tools, we teach people how to process their emotions when challenges arise. Not only will our clients have an organized, decluttered space after our services, they will also be equipped with mindfulness skills that are applicable to everyday living.
InJest Puppets – Heidi Carpenter from InJest Puppets is on staff at the Atlanta Puppetry Guild, a member of The Puppeteers of America, and a valued instructor at the PineLake Eco Arts Camp. She performs locally and creates one-of-a-kind puppet creations that she sells at local galleries and shows.
Draw Change – Art is a vehicle to reach out to students. Engaging them with art enriches their study with all other curriculum subjects. Our strategy is aimed to spark the energy of world peace by igniting the passion of learning in the world’s children. In using the research based principles of integrating the arts in the general curriculum, we hope to increase self-esteem and thinking skills in children to help them become better world citizens. Wherever there is a need, Draw Change wants to be there providing art supplies.
Ashley Chase Yoga & HUM – Performance artist, Yoga instructor, Ashley Chase is a visionary woman with a passion for helping others become their highest selves. At the festival Ashley and her team will be leading The Phoenix Dance, a play on music, dance, and yoga designed to awaken the audience participants from the inside. This activity involves live musicians in a circle as Ashley teaches the children movements to first increase their flexibility, move their bodies in dance, and let their voices sing out along in harmony with the music.
The Garden School – A non-profit private school in Marietta offering a nature-immersive education for kindergarten through grade 4. At our 15-acre forested campus, students spend most of the day learning outside, exploring the pond and stream, working in the garden, and connecting with the natural sciences on their own terms. Our teachers are dedicated and experienced professionals who recognize and cultivate each child’s individual strengths and passion, helping to build the foundation for a well-rounded intellectual life.
Barefoot Books – Sarah Seyfred is an Ambassador for Barefoot Books – a publishing company that makes children’s books with a focus on care for the planet, cultural awareness, and teaches compassion for others and exposes children to different traditions through art and story.
In Home Fitness – Owner, Mindy Runyon-Haydar has over 13 years of experience in Personal Training. For the past five years she has focused on weight loss and helping her clients come off of medications for weight related issues such as: Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Mindy loves helping others find their path to optimal health!
Hop Along Home Rabbit Rescue and Sanctuary – A no kill shelter that takes in and cares for homeless rabbits at risk of euthanasia at other facilities. We spay or neuter and vet all rabbits then find them loving indoor homes with a family all their own! We’re always looking for temporary foster families and adoptive families as well as donations for the rabbits’ care!
